How long do your brakes last?
I seem to be replacing brake pads every 25,000 miles (plus discs because they're lipped every time). Is this normal?
I usually drive the 3 series and I don't remember replacing brakes nearly so often. |

Brake wear is very individual between driving styles. I used to be very happy if my brake pads lasted a summer season (less than 10000 km), but some people can make their brakes last 100 000+ km. For my driving style, I usually replace the discs every second set of pads.

After 2 years I'm finding my front pads need replacing every 24,000 miles and the rears every 19,000 miles.
Seems excessive and I'm wondering if they're really wearing out this fast or if its the way the sensors work on modern BMWs. |
