The very reason I went for an F30 in March over an M135i. Knew it was being replaced.
It'll be the same as the current M135i LCI but with the B58 engine instead. Bet it's brilliant! |

I'm about to purchase a M135i or should I wait for the M140i with the B58 engine?
Will prices for new M135i's drop in the next few months in Australia like they have with the larger models? http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/u...24-gp2etn.html |

M135i went through big price drops in 2013 -- I doubt there's much more to come for M140i. It's pretty well priced, IMO.

I am 1 or 2 years away from my f30 lease ending.
Leaning towards an M2 with a JB1 or an m140i with the following mods JB4, DP, air intake and coil overs. I think performance wise the m140i has it over the m135i, and for someone that wants to mod for performance the B58 makes power easier than the N55. |

So you basically find the M140i and the M2 too slow for your needs in stock form? I also considered these cars, but found that I had no need for all that power.

I bought my wife a 2014 F30 328 and absolutely love driving it, apart from the fact that its too slow. I have now installed a JB1 and it has made an improvement but no where near what I have always had in the past. |

Indeed...and even then, I'm not sure either the M2 or the M135i are necessarily the best tool in the box for drag racing...even when modified.
Both, however, offer significantly more launch than the F30 328. Also, pay close attention to what the various tunes actually offer. It's easy to boost the T6 power, but there can be reliability issues unless there's associated fueling and timing maps.

Will be used as a daily driver, probably won't take it too far but it will see the drags aswell as some track days.
If it runs a mid to low 11sec pass I'll be happy. |

M135's manage mid 12s out of the box, so I'd reckon a M140i with lsd and sticky rears should give sub-12s a good fright

I wish,
M5's are very expensive in Australia, plus I am looking for something smaller to use as a daily, the falcon chews too much fuel. M140i or an M2 would be perfect, they just need a bit more oomph |

As we both know, we have both raised the bar on XR6 Turbo mods in Australia and am keen to hear your thoughts. As mine will be circuit based, it will be 245 front and 265 A050's with a wheel/offset upgrade. Considering JB#, Water Meth for cooling but the boot is already pretty small for a rear mounted kit. Not sure washer bottle is the go. Hopefully when I'm ready OBD tuning will be possible? Been reading A LOT on the this B58. Would love to run an E85% tune for the circuit, and 98 on the street like I do currently in the Turbo Taxi. 40% Ethanol done so far, but in 2 years when I'm ready, who knows? |
