Not from the stories I've heard, maybe a failure to launch?
But what chance does he have at this point to get out on his own? It's just amazing how quickly 14 years go by. If his parents had thrown him out at 22, he wouldn't be in this predicament, well, imho. Mothers would likely claim they love their sons so much that this is best for them. edit: I just thought of something we saw in DC. I told my wife our son will be like this if you don't quit it. A woman, petit, maybe 5'2", was holding her son. He was about 5'2 or 5'3. Ok, kidding, maybe 3" shorter. The father, 6' tall, was holding the other kid, probably a twin. What I'm trying to say is those kids are likely 12, and still being held by their parents, while waiting to be seated at a restaurant. I honestly found this behavior to be repulsive...sorry...lol |

^^ Agreed. Teach them responsibility at an early age so they can be independent. Lol failure to launch.

This is probably not politically correct, but the mom is encouraging the son to do mail order brides from 3rd world countries. Ok, think about it, that implies that he can't get a wife in NJ...lol

The divorce was about 2 years ago.
Insurance has him as excluded from any of our vehicles. I get the most nervous if he goes out because my wife left the car in the driveway and he needs to get out. I KNOW one of us will have to cover for him on the traffic report. . . |

Remember my cousin (not the murderer, the one who wanted me to support him)? Well I found out he moved to Tampa to live with his mother and his new step father is wondering why he isn't even looking for work and always asking for freebies. I'm not saying your son is that, however, there comes a time when you have to man up, grab the bull by the horns and take control.

I asked him why do you say that? He said, because she'll tell them up-front in the interview, "I miss a lot of work because of all of my medical issues." SIGH....... |

He's working at college during the day, umpires nights and weekends, and starts the nursing program in the fall. Plus he chauffeurs his little brother to zero-period in school until I can get that damn bug running. He's on the short list to start doing college-level football games this fall too.

No runners until 5th inning last night, trailing 2-0. Then the bats woke up and got 2 in 5th and 3 in 6th to win first game 2-5.
This morning nobody got past second and trailed 0-1 entering 6th. Tied then got 3 in 7th while other team only scored 2. Final we won 4-3 and took District Championship. Next weekend starts Sectional playoffs |

So......little league season will be starting in January and my son and I have played catch sparingly since the season ending in April/May. His throws haven't missed a beat and gets to grounders quickly. This past Monday I took a personal day from work and took my son to the local batting cages at the park after he got out from school. I threw maybe 100 pitches to him and he swung and missed about three. For not picking up a bat in six months I was pretty impressed.

We just found out last weekend that there is another league not too far from us that play during the fall so we'll sign him up for that next year. I'm glad he wants to play and enjoys baseball when as a kid I sucked so bad

Well, baseball is probably over now. We had a rough game on Saturday, lost 0-7. My son moved up to #2 in the batting order, and made some decent contact. 1 time on base (Fielder's Choice) and I was excited because he didn't have that slow kid in front of him. Running to second on grounder to 3rd, he rounded the corner and took off for 3rd, then hesitated 2 steps, and they threw him out on the slide at 3rd.
He started in Center, but the kid behind the plate wasn't doing so well. Moved my boy in there and he took over. At one point, as the catcher, he got a double-play; runners at second and third, grounder to third base and he brings it home. Runner turns around at about 4 steps from home and my boy runs him down, gear and all. Runner at second is off the bag and my son throws over after making the tag, gets that kid in a run-down. Nobody is covering second, so he runs over and picks up the next throw in the pickle and again chases the runner down and tags him out. His dad was all smiles . . . |

Non-sports related story of pride.
OK, so they say water is going to fall out of the sky, lots of water, on Thursday. They say if you catch it in a bucket, and then stick a ruler in the bucket, you could find that you caught 3/4" of water. To prepare for this event, I broke out the Rain-X, and was teaching the boy to do his own VW windows. First he cleaned them really well , then I handed him the bottle of Rain-X and a new towel. As he's wiping it on, the following: "Dad, what is this, a hydrophobic?" "Yes, alcohol-based. Where did you learn that word?" "School" Not only is he paying attention in school, and learning big-ass words, he understands the concept and can apply them fancy words to real-life situations that probably weren't taught in school biology class (I think that is where he lernt it) |

Little league season starts this Tuesday and the coach of my sons team picked me to be an assistant coach. I feel honored as I loved working with the kids last season during practice and before game drills. Just paid $36 online for the background check just to make sure I'm not a pedophile -,-
