I've got the laptop with XP Prof. and RJ45 (ethernet) port. I need to buy the cable. I'm searching online too. Look forward to your tutorial, though. Thanks for your help from the other end of the world... |

Great!
I'm now trying to get the E-sys software while I wait for the cable to arrive. By the way: Which version of the E-Sys software is the most stable, or the most reliable? I'm getting mixed up with the different versions out there... Let us know when you're done with the tutorial... Last edited by Brenyaman; 04-06-2013 at 05:08 AM.. |

Is that another piece of software that's needed in addition to the E-SYS 3.18.4?? |

From what I can gather they are files that the program uses, maybe like a data set or a database that carry all the latest software information etc, not a separate program.

I confirm that I can connect my iPhone 3GS with the standard white USB cable and it charges. Music plays normally and lists are sdisplayed. Album art is also displayed. Cheers |

I can happily report that I've upgraded 6NH to 6NK through coding.
I know have BMW live (such a joy checking the weather ahead...!), audio bluetooth, cover art on the iDrive screen, electronic speedometer on the central console, start/stop and climate control memory... Yipee!! Last edited by Brenyaman; 04-21-2013 at 04:58 AM.. |

Did you get them iBeech?
If I have standard iDrive I take it I dont have the combox? I see no mention of it in the VIN decoder thing

On the subject of mp3 tags, Does it read these in preference to downloaded data or only if it can't find the details online. Some of the artwork I get in the car doesn't agree with the pictures in my PC's media library. EDIT:: I can confirm that with no phone connected, and with a previously unknown (to the car) CD in the drive, album art is still displayed. It doesn't necesarily follow that you don't need the advanced bluetooth pack installed, but it certainly doesn't need to use it if you have a Connected Drive account.
