Has anyone put alternative alloys on their M135i?
I must admit when I first considered getting the M135i the biggest visual setback for me wasn't the shape, or the lights, or any of the other styling. It was the lack of effort they put into designing the 'unique' alloys for the 1 series flagship car. I must admit they are growing on me week by week. But I was just wondering whether anyone else was on the same lines as me. I understand we have a fair few M135i owners. So I was just interested to see whether anyone has actually changed the standard alloys yet? and if so has any pictures to show

oops sorry! indeed i've checked it out as well. I think its because of the torque of the engine or something.. In this case only 18" 388 seem to be a nice option. We can ask for car photos from people who have changed them.

Hartge have some sets of 19" rims for the 1-series. Especially the Ultimo looks amazing on the F20/21!
see an M sport F20 (which looks exactly like the M135) with these wheels on this sales ad: https://www.finn.no/finn/car/used/ob...nkode=39459183 |

Strange thing is BMW Approved Used UK have a M135i for sale with the 405m alloys on, but like yourselves I read on the M Performance section of the site that they aren't for the M135i for whatever reason. I think I'll have to enquire with the dealer about this. Those 405's are nice alloys tbh, quite pricey mind

So ya,
Waiting on a mineral grey M135i. I too was kind of worried that the 436 rims might look a bit off and now that a friend got his I would definitely agree that they are just whack. Such a shame, seems BMW simply miss-matched car and rim... First thing I do when the car gets here is put on a new set of 19" My questions are: Does anyone know the ET on the front and back 436 double spoke? Does anyone know how much space the car has on the inside (towards the center of car) on the front and back, i.e. keeping the same ET as 436 rim- what size rim/tyre could you use? Would the M1 coupe wheel fit as is? (BBS CH-R?) Thx, and do forgive the layman's terms. i'm not very mech savvy |

Can't be the torque or it would exclude the 125d as well as it has the same torque output as the M135i.

I wouldn't have the slightest clue about these kind of things...
but wouldn't it be the torque due to breaking rather than engine acceleration? I mean, it seems to me it would be higher under breaking... so when it comes down to it the weight of the car, size of tire/rim and friction between the rubber and surface which should dictate the torque applied to the hub of the rim... |

I guess the short answer is that if they're not supported by BMW, then you're likely to be in trouble with your insurer if you have an accident.
Still, it would be great to see some nice wheels in compatible PCD and offset as alternatives for the M135i |

I have always had the 403M from the F30 as a good alternative option for the F20.
I don't have Photoshop but if anyone could pshop these on a M135i, I think it might give a good idea of what's possible. PCD and ET are no issue. |

And Oh, I've just checked there are no Michelin PSS for the rear 245/30/19 405 M alloy, maybe that's why BMW does not recommend it, only Pirelli!
Bummer, those 405M are nice on the 135i :-\ |

I really like the AC Schnitzer designs...just to big for me (18'' and above), but if I was to fit 18'' or 19'' wheel at my car I would 99% go with Schnitzer or BBS (unfortunately Alpina wheels are not available for the F20 yet).

Hi
Apologies for the thread resurrection but I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to fit 255/35/19s on an M135i, mounted on a 8.5J x 19 wheel, without fouling the wheel arches? Looking to fit some existing winter tyres that I have rather than buy new ones. Thanks Paul |

You need to check the ET on those wheels first. 1 series has higher offset than most of the BMW's so if these wheels are coming from another BMW they might not fit.
