Is this what your CBS reads out or not? I do an oil change every 10k kms, but the CBS reads out for service is always around the 30k mark. Maybe the CBS is de-calibrated? Such short service intervals are not normal.

I am not asking when most users go for service, but what is recommended by BMW? From what I understand your initial question was about the required service for the F20...right? And you thought that every 8-9k is too early, compared to a Honda (as you say). I am trying to explain that BMW does not recommend service every 9k kms, but based on the CBS, which comes at around 30k kms.

This is what BMW says:
"The Condition Based Service (CBS) maintenance system monitors the status of individual parts and fluids, plus checks your BMW for servicing work that is due after certain time or distance." CBS is therefore governed in part by the way we drive our cars. I know when my wife drives my car these numbers can improve yet when I drive they can reduce |

I would not say ''abusing'', just driving it a bit harder than ''normal''. Do not worry

We have around 6000km on the odometer, and from the initally 30 000km to next service, it's now down to around 19 000km. I have understood, and was told by the salesman at our dealer, that CBS continuously checks the status of each component, fluids etc, and adjust the "time to next service". Number of cold starts, oil quality, brake pad wearing, driving pattern etc. is logged into the CBS.

Maybe your Turkey dealers have switched off CBS and set the services so they can screw more money from you and BMW. I would email BMW directly about this as you guys could be getting screwed

It is a different thing what users say (each user can say whatever he wants!!) and what BMW says!! You can either follow what other users do or follow the BMW official instructions, i.e. service based on the CBS. Do not confuse what some people do, with the official BMW service policy.

Why it is absurd? If you drive quite hard and also the majority of the kms are in town and traffic, 17k is about normal. Anyhow, 17k is a big difference from the 8-9k you mentioned in your previous post.

1. When you did the first service at 9.000kms, you did it because the CBS was saying so? 2. When you did the service at 9.000 kms, did you reset the CBS or no?

Maybe you should as Customer Care in Turkey why the CBS intervall was set to 11.000km for the new car when it's usually 30.000km.
Even though the driving style influences the CBS intervall, I doubt (in your favour )that your driving style causes 2 Services within 17.000km. Especially since the intervall was 11kkm when the car was new. |
