116i Sportline in Mineral White [with *Urban line* kidney grill in high gloss white]
Very excited as weeks closer to the new F20 I have on order I will post pictures as soon as it arrives in end-July.
Options Added:
Modifications Ordered: Swapping standard black kidney grill of Sportline with the chrome and white-gloss *Urban* kidney grill which looks spectacular with MW / AW at cost of parts [£67] and labour [£150] What it partly looks like: Courtesy member Manteroo [his is in AW, mine will be in MW] http://f20.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=698910 Looking for an iDrive knob as the rubberised one std on F20 is really poor compared to what I have on my F07 / 5-Series GT. Apparently they don't do knobs by themselves but as a sub-assembly. Is this correct? Is there something I am missing that you would suggest? Until then, commiserations to all the 1addicts on this forum enjoying their new cars |

Congratulations....I would like to see pics of Mineral White...I love my Alpine White!!!
Why on earth it costs so much (labour) to replace the Kidney Grills? You can do it by yourself in like 5-10 mins. max.

Because BMW claims they need to remove the whole frontbumper to replace the grills, as they did with the E8x too. And then they just grabed the grills, one with each hand, and one powerfull PULL and 10 seconds later, they were removed. *click* and *click*, in were the new ones. 150€ earned. Probably about as easy with the F20. And even if you're careful, you can reach the holders from the outside so you do not need to remove the bumper.

Star Spoke 379
Ordered the Sport line so it comes with the 17" star spoke 379 in orbit grey and burnished metal. Like it very much.
Don't like the *urban line* white alloys. |

Nice. Manteroo and I both have the 381 Turbines, I agree with you on the white urban alloys. The 379s would have been my 2nd choice!

With bated breath
MartinHatting: I love the look of your Alpine White 118i Urbanline - the turbine alloys are sophisticated and add to the understated elegance of this line. [like Manteroo and Bimmerman who have similar cars, there is something very clean and Nordic chic about it]
I have ordered a Mineral White metallic 116i Sportline because i like the sport fittings but am swapping the standard black grills over to the urban line white-gloss and chrome. Hope it looks as good as I think it will. If money was no object, I would have liked to add the sliding roof, professional satnav and (everest grey) leather seats. But that would be a bit mad for a run-around car (my 0ther car is a 5-series GT that I absolutely love!) Last edited by SpokenHands; 07-03-2012 at 07:32 AM.. |

Still waiting
4 weeks down, 4 more to go.
Don't have a clear delivery date except end of July. The more F20 Sportlines I see, the more I think I got the right spec mineral white with white gloss grille and burnished grey star alloys is going to look the business. Taking a gamble not ordering the Pro Sat Nav in favour of the soon to come Apple Navigation on IPad/iPhone. Will I regret cloth seats over leather? Have 8 speed auto, driver comfort and visibility pack plus dab. Last edited by SpokenHands; 07-03-2012 at 07:30 AM.. |

You won't regret ordering too much, but you will regret you forgot that one special cool gadget......! You ordered the DAB radio, which is very useful. I believe it can only be ordered together with Navi Business. Which again gives you the iDrive wheel and monitor. I haven't seen Mineral white in flesh yet, but from pictures it looks very nice. Definitely good alternative to AW.

Mod the iDrive Knob
Love the look of your car A LOT! Turbine alloys look lovely, mine will come with the 17" burnished grey star alloys that can look quite sporty. I am going to get a light or medium smoke tint to the windows, + those tasty white-gloss and chrome kidney grills. Has anyone seen a nice idrive knob like the F01/F07/F10 rather than the rubberised F20 one? |

It would surprise me if you can't use the navi pro knob on all F20's. Sorry for the poor photo quality, it's taken on the sneak peek day when the car arrived at the dealer.

iDrive Knobs
Quote:
I understand from the dealer that the knobs are not available for purchase alone, it comes as an entire assembly, and as you say it is linked to the NavPro / Business / No SatNav coding. So looks like my runaround is stuck with the basic looking iDrive. Bit different from the ceramic beauty on my F07. |

My 116d (no Line ordered) is Mineral White and I also have the white Urban grill. I did not have to pay anything for labour, the grill itself was around 65 Euro.
See my profile for more pics
