F20 M Sport Adaptive Suspension
Hi,
I'm new to the forum, so hello all. I have a new F20 arriving in March and it will have M Sport Adaptive Suspension fitted. Does anybody else have this option fitted? Have you been impressed with it? Is it adjusted separately through the i-drive or is it linked to the ECO PRO / Sport settings? E.g. can I set it to firm when in ECO PRO or will it automatically assume that I want comfort suspension when in this mode? Alternatively, will I be able to have softer suspension with the Sport throttle setting? Any photos of the menus on the display relating to these settings would be great. Hope the above makes sense..! :-) Thanks. |

Mine has this option and it's gonna be here in 10 days.
As I've asked the dealer of mine with the same questions, he told me this option is just lowered 10mm compare with the original suspension. And you can't adjust through i-Drive. I hope he's wrong and looking forward any of you can reply these questions. |

There are two options,
M-Sport Suspension and Adaptive M-Sport Suspension. My understanding is that M-Sport Suspension is a fixed lowered suspension setup. Adaptive M-Sport Suspension is altered in line with what driving mode you have selected. I would guess in ECO & Comfort you get a more comfortable ride, in sport & sport +, it reverts to M-Sport boneshaker mode! I didn't put it on my new F20 but if i had i'd have gone for adaptive. The suspension in my 120i M-Sport, while fun and adding to the sporty look, gets old on the daily commute.

Thanks for all the info
Sol01 - Yes, hopefully I will be able to configure the suspension setting for each mode. The photo of the screen is useful - thanks. Will find out and report back when the car arrives next month! |

Sol01 is right. In the F12/13 you can configure both suspension and drivetrain independent of each other, and in 3 modes each: Comfort - Normal - Sport. In addition there is a 4th mode, Sport+ which is basically the same set up as Sport, but allows wheelspin and drifting.
It is similar with the adaptive suspension in the F20, however the modes are more tuned to economy (with Eco Pro on the soft end).

The first serious winter test will be during coming week end. Taking the 6er up in the mountains where it is -30 C right now (not normal even there). The picture is from summer. I'll shoot some snowy pics as soon as we have a little sun here up north. Probably on the 6er forum though, not to mess up the threads. Since this subforum is all about F20: The M sport package is finally ready to be ordered here i Norway, so I have made an appointment with my dealer next week to discuss a possible case for a better daily driver than my Smart. Can't wait

So if the budget allows it, and constantly sporty driving is not a must, the adaptive M-suspension is a perfect choice compared to the fixed M-suspension. (Forgive me all you hard core M-thusiasts )

Sport. Is the suspension too firm/stiff. I've not test driven one with this suspension. Dealer said I should not have the option removed. A little confused. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks. |

120d Sport
Hi
I've had our 120d sport since Nov and were happy with sport suspension The car stil rolls a bit in hard cornering but is very well balanced and nimble Has been on conti winter tyre and wheel pack from dealer since December and went well in recent snow. |

Like Sol, I think that must be the standard suspension not the M-Sport, which is an optional extra on the Sport line.
Based on the M-Sport suspension i have on my e81, it should be on rails in hard cornering. If that is M-Sport, it sounds like they have sanitised it a great deal.
