I saw on German tv that the base price for the new 1er starts at 27k euros, with the top sports model in at 42K euros! YIKES that is a lot of euros! Espcially bc the hostest engine is the 120i (turbo gas)right now. |

I saw it at the Leipzig Werk last week. A 120d (primer grey) and a 120i (red) being built on the production line. The car looks very good(and a little bit more grown up/classy). The rear view looks very square-ish the sides look good. I could not see the front of the car though. I liked what I have seen though. I have also seen some reports on German Tv. The car looks much better IRL and in video than it does in still photos. I'm curious as to what you guys think. Btw... all the press cars on Tv has been in that bright RED color(sport) or that bright Metalic Blue(urban) Dackel |

Well i saw the new 1 Series last night. Pictures do not do it justice. The interior in particular is very very nice. However, the 120d SE they had was priced at £31000.
I know it is a strange wish list but i was between the new 1 and the 5. I thought that the 1 series would have been around £10000 less to buy. However i have a test drive booked for Saturday, of a 7 series!!! They are doing a 2 year lease deal that will cost me an extra £25 over what i pay for my 320d MSport. Went in to see the smallest of the range and i might buy the biggest!!! |

No, the two cars we saw last week being built in Leipzig was a 120i and 120d models. I know the launch cars are either a 116i, 118i, 116d or 118d models. The only colors I have seen on the launch cars is that bright red for the sport and the blue for the urban. I am 100% the cars we saw being built at Leipzig were a 120i and 120d. Dackel |

My dealer had a mineral grey 120d SE with a high spec including Oyster leather, wood trim, xenons, professional navigation, rear PDC, lane departure etc. the price does soon add up with extras though as came in at over £30k.
It does definitely look larger and more grown up and much better in real life than in the pictures, the front end in particular being a lot more sculpted than it comes across in photos. The interior seems to be a step up in quality, although I would reserve judgement slightly until I've seen it with standard trim. |

Sounds like they are sending the same specced cars to the previews. I am going to another preview tomorrow at a different dealer and I suspect the same car will be shipped to them.

F20 118i Sport
I've seen this one today in Lisbon!
It is a 118i Sport version. The interior is really good and the front is pretty nice (much better in real life ) |

Went to my second dealer preview event last night. They had shipped the same car to the other dealer.
Whoever is taking the car to the dealers is carrying out salesman training at the same time. Last night my usual salesman was down at the official internal BMW launch event so i was stuck with another guy. This salesman that i was talking with last night was just trying to remember what he had been told during the day and was rhyming it off verbatim!! His face was a picture when i told him exactly what options were on the car and how much it would come to. He didnt know how to answer my questions and started to rhyme off the price differences between the base models!!! It is always obvious that i normally know more than the dealers but it is really frustrating that you cant get some decent information from these guys. Apart from that i think the new 1 Series is a big step up from the E87 but at the moment it is simply too expensive for what you get. It will be a good option in 6 - 12 months though. |

Some new pics I found today. Btw... every German dealer should have this new 1er starting on Sept 17th onwards.
I did see that the Preview will not be at the factory run dealership (BMW Niederlassung München) up the street from the Welt. Rather, BMW will hold the: PREM1erE at the Olympia Park across the street from the Welt on Sept 16th at 6:30pm. You do need tickets for this event. You can call: 089.54818821 for more info There are some some videos (in German) here... http://www.bmw.de/de/de/insights/new...=1&channelID=1 |

Previously standard features (on all but the base models) such as rear PDC and automatic air conditioning are now options across the whole range and even worse only available in packages, meaning it's an extra £1200 or so to get them. |
