Hi All,
My name is Mark and i have just registered today but have been reading the forum over the last few weeks. At the moment I drive a 60 plate Ford Fiesta Zetec S (don't hold this against me). A few weeks ago i was looking for a new car ranging from a volvo C30 to Audi when i stumbled into my local BMW dealer. Over that weekend i ended up signing for a 116i Sport in crimson red with black mirror caps. I didn't know much about the extras on BMW's at the time, wish i did now as i would have added more to it, but i unded up adding Interior Comfort Pack and Sun Protection Pack. I got the dealer to add in Gap Insurance, Service Pack and Supagard for a little over £280 for all 3, thought that was a good deal. I now take delivery of the car at 13:00 on 1 March and can not wait The thing what interests me about these places is you think that you have a good deal and then read what others have paid and you start to question your purchase. All i can add to this is that if you are happy with the deal you got it doesn't matter what everyone else gets, that's my motto any way. I will post some pics when i collect the car. |

Welcome Aboard
The community is growing by the day! I pick mine up on the 1st at 9am, i guess we'll be two of the first 12 plate 1er owners. Great colour choice, red is the new White!

Thanks Sol, I also got Supaguard in with that as well, but I will still regularly wax my car with autoglym high definition wax, keeps the car exterior on top class condition.

Congrats and welcome!
Wow, seems like the F20 is a mega hit in Britain these days, reading all these posts from you guys! I still have to wait more than 2 months for my baby, but can live with that....

I've certainly seen a few. I think the low rate finance they have been offering has been putting them on the road.
The dealer told me they have had people coming out of 5 series buying the new 1er. I think as a financial prospect the car makes a lot of sense and that is what people are wanting these days given the economic outlook and the high sales tax. Especially if you are like me trying to save 30k for a deposit on my next house there's just no way to justify £500, £600+ per month on a car.

Congratulations.
I picked up a 116i Sport in mineral grey yesterday. It's simply incredable. Out of interest did you get a service book? The supplying dealer told me the F20 dosn't have one as it is all held in the car. Seems a bit odd not to have a book with stamps! Thanks |

Hi Guys
Quick question I am on the verge of looking at the new 1 to replace my 3 series coupe. Is it worth going got the 118 or the 116? Looking at the finance rates I don't think I can get anyone to match them, fingers crossed can save myself a few quid per month. |

Hi Mark,
I've seen the term 60 plate etc on cars before. What does this actually mean? Australian here. Cheers, Martin Quote:

Firstbmw@24,
60 plate is simply a reference to the registration plate and year of said car. In the UK cars are first registered with new plates in March or September of each year. 60 plate refers to 2010 Sept to March 2011. 61 plate is 2011 Sept to March 2012. March to Sept get the actual year designation so if you bought a car at the end Feb 2012 it would have 61 on the registration plate. If you bought a car on the 1st of March 2012 it would have '12' on the plate. |
