GPF M140i downpipe/exhaust options
My M140i is stage 1 at the moment, but I want more! It's a GPF model and I want to keep the stock exhaust original and as backup. But after loads of reading and Google, my exhaust options are still not clear to me.
I know the GPF model has an extra tube with a pressure sensor on the downpipe. I know the GPF downpipe has a different connection (v band). I will use MHD for the tune. I want a 200 or 300 cell downpipe. I want a resonator. I don't need valves on the backbox, but if there are it has to work with stock system. No app, no vacuum actuator. So the biggest thing I don't understand is the pressure sensor. When I flash the MHD GPF delete, will it delete the sensor of just code out the GPF error? If I don't hook up the sensor, will I get a CEL or even possible limpmode? Or can I just buy a pre-GPF turboback exhaust and run the MHD stage 2 flash with GPF delete? Looking at a full Cobra Sport system. And what will I do with the pressure sensor in that case? Or do I need to buy a GPF downpipe with sport cat, v band and sensor tube connection and then look for a catback that will fit that v band connection? I've asked my local BMW specialist that will also fit the exhaust, but he didn't know since he's not really into tuning. So I hope the knowledge wizards here have the perfect answer. |
