PCNA asked the owners of 6SpeedOnline to remove the Macan info thread. Sounds like a confirmation to me.

Does the macan even offer any utility a sedan already doesnt? These small suvs all seem to have insufficient cargo space and dont do whatever suvs are supposed to do. Dont even get me started on the x6 and probably x4 that cant even climb shit lol.

i would tend to agree. if the thing cant fit my dog in the cargo area its pointless for most anything else.

Before folding down the seats, the Macan should have 29 cu.ft. while the three series has about 12 cu.ft. I would give Porsche more credit than BMW as far as off roading goes. The X line has never been off road capable as you already know. |

Can anyone tell me if the base or the S is available with a stick? I'm bummed that we cant get a 328i wagon or X128i with a stick.

"Porsche intends to offer three engines and the choice of either a standard manual or optional seven speed dual clutch gearbox." http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...can_first_ride http://www.autoweek.com/article/2013...NEWS/131009813 Autoweek spills more details on engine specs: We first found ourselves in the heavily contoured passenger seat of the Turbo Macan that is set to lead the Macan line-up. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter, direct injected gasoline V6 engine that, up to now, has only been offered in naturally aspirated guise. The adoption of forced induction, a complex cooling system fed by those substantial front air ducts and other associated internal modifications as raised output by a significant 100 hp, bumping it to 395 hp – the same figure touted by the naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 used in the Cayenne GTS. There is an even bigger increase in torque, which climbs by 110 lb ft to a sturdy 406 lb ft. By comparison, the most powerful Q5, the SQ5, uses a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 direct injection gasoline engine with 354 hp and 347lb ft. Weight? Porsche is yet to reveal any weight figures for its new model but Woehler suggests a number of weight saving measures, including the use of aluminium in the body, will see the Turbo hit the scales at under 3750lb. Nevertheless, there are sufficient power reserves to provide it with more than just brisk performance. In lower gears it possess serious pace away from the lights and truly impressive in-gear acceleration. Final performance numbers are yet to be validated. Our money is on a 0-62mph time in the sub-5.0sec bracket and a top speed above 160mph. Sufficient to bury the SQ5, for sure. Last edited by Lorde; 10-09-2013 at 10:42 AM.. |

If I can afford a moderately optioned Macan, I think I'm jumping from the sedan ship. A small SUV that is almost as fast, as fun to drive, and as good sounding as my M with ground clearance and more space sounds like a huge win to me. I do enough outdoor activities that I would prefer a small SUV if it drives like they're claiming.
The Turbo sounds like the bees knees but will surely be topping $85k+ after options, which is out of my realm. Not sure I'd be satisfied with just the S but I'll want to test drive one! |

Which options did you add to your Turbo? The CTT already has the air suspension, adaptive seats, nav, metallic paint is included, bose, etc over the lower Cayennes. I think I only added $1500 in options that I considered necessities on a CTT.
Although, wheel options alone can push it up by another $4k |

So saw a Macan being driven by my house. It was 6:30 am on Sunday, while driving to work; I was about to pull into Starbucks, when I saw it. Looked good from the back. Sorry guys, no photos because it was still dark.
I'm pretty sure I will see them more and more of it by my house. I live in La Verne. I saw several Porsche test cars being driven on Foothill blvd, through La Verne, San Dimas, and Glendora. I will snap photos when I can. |

I'll be replacing my E90 M3 next year and the Macan, M235i and F80 M3 are at this stage pretty even though very different candidates. It will be a lot of test drives next year since I think it will be a tough choice. My wife already drives a 2013 Cayenne which is quite simply superb for what it is. It's a proper SUV so it's not as planted as the M3 but the quality feel in everything is unmatched and it's actually quite fun to hustle. The Macan should be closer to a sedan and more nimble. I'm looking forward to driving one. Buying a Porsche hurts when you are used to deep BMW discounts and relative cheap factory options/packages but you really do get value for your money if you go easy on the options.
What I'm really waiting for is the upcoming new Porsche sedan that will slot in below the Panamera. That should be the answer to the prayers of those of us a bit dispapointed in the F-series BMWs. |

Heyyyy, this got moved.
l'm really quite excited for the launch details next month. I love my M3 but if I can get virtually the same thing in a light off roader that looks good, I'm sold. We need more leaks now. |
