Montreal race confirmation imminent
Canadian news reports are claiming that its race has been confirmed as returning to the Formula 1 calendar for next year after a season off in 2009. The Grand Prix in Montreal is currently pencilled into the FIA race schedule although it now seems as though a 5-year deal has been struck between race organizers and Bernie Ecclestone.
La Presse reports that, not only is the 2010 race confirmed for June 13, but that the sport will be returning to Canada for at least for the next five seasons.

Montreal seals Formula One contract
The Canadian Grand Prix has officially returned on the Formula 1 calendar after being removed from last year's calendar. The city of Montreal has signed a contract with Ecclestone for a race to be held in the city every year through 2014.

What a relief. It was humiliating for F1 to be a global series and not have a SINGLE RACE in North America. Plus the Montreal circuit is always a blast, generally gives lots of overtaking with its long straights

What a whore that Ecclestone. After catering to the rich oil people of the Middle East and dumping Montréal in the process he is now realizing that they may be imploding and he is quite happy to return to Montréal. What a jerk.
