116i Vs 220i
I have both a 2015 116i M Sport and a 2015 220i M Sport I have to say I have better fun in the 116i. The 116i engine is a lot more lively and it's cornering is better. I had a drive of a new MX5 1.6 and I would put the 116i in the same camp as the MX5 lively and fun to drive.
I have not driven BMW's 2016 116i 3 cylinder and if it's as good as the 4 cylinder I'll replace my 116i at the end of production. There are usually some good run out prices then. I defiantly do not want a front wheel drive. Last edited by Kiwi; 01-23-2016 at 02:15 AM.. |

With the LCI release you have to buy the 118i to be on par with the pre LCI 116i..
What do you hate in the 220i, especially being an M Sport too? The power is significantly higher than in the 116i.. |

I've been thinking why I like the 116 and it's because I don't have to be going super fast to make the engine work and this is how the new Mazda MX5 works. |

I found today the 220i has more turbo lag when starting from the lights in Sport Mode. It's terrible in Comfort Mode. The 116i is away without any turbo lag well a lot less than the 220i

[QUOTE=Kiwi;19303857I do know I'm starting to dislike stop start and turn it off. I wish I could have both cars default to sport and no stop start when I start the cars.[/QUOTE]
You can code "start and stop" in DIY, ask for on 2addicts. Your dealer could also add OMSA option for Free : Aftermarket_Fitment [1773] OMSA_WITHOUT_ENGINE_START_STOP For the mode, it's easy to code Eco-Pro as default but nobody knows how to declare Sport by default. |

I had the dealers new demo m135i auto yesterday as I had a flat tire on my 116i.
I was a little disappointed as the ride was harsh on our rough New Zealand roads. It's not BMW's fault but I'll stay with my 116i M Sport and 220i M Sport. I also thought the extra money to buy the 135i is over the top but that's BMW New Zealand pricing. I was impressed with the fuel economy as it was the same as my 116i when I dropped the car back. I did reset the 135 as it was showing 12.5L but after the reset and driving all day without thrashing the 135 I had 7.8L. My 116i is 7.4L which is around 2 months of quick driving. |

Then again, we take the cake with $415 fines for cyclists not wearing a helmet.

I cant believe how Australia is being run to much by their Police. We are across the ditch often to Australia and always drive like a nanny while I'm there. I did look once at moving over but Australia is too expensive and too hot as well too many Australians We do send our rubbish across so enjoy our rejects. It only cost us $30 if we are speeding within 10ks over the posted speed limit and a red light drive through is $150. Last edited by Kiwi; 02-12-2016 at 01:09 PM.. |
