It just means the stage1 graph or stage2 graph used a different scale for hp/torque. Eg both graphs did not use same scale originally. No more, no less.

200-220 hp made 116 s began issuing chip tuning problems like cracked blog melted pistons etc. anyone here happy with their chip tuned 116i's ? im now curious about chip tune to my 116i.

i not gonna do it after i heard them.
in our turkish forum http://bmwarea.com/forum/index.php?topic=1675.105 in this page first post we have dead engine. some posts later we have a hole in engine. http://bmwarea.com/forum/index.php?topic=1675.120 this we have melted piston. ( im not sure its f20 116i.) we are all discussing the chip tune now some guys rollback to original software |

low octane gas or not. a modern engine can adjust to all variables. if caused by a tune some limits must have been moved/deleted outside of the engines capabilities.

The most likely cause is overheating. If you take advantage of almost twice the power output of what the engine is made for, things will get very warm. If there were no issues with that kind of power, BMW would have offered it themselves. It is not as if they don't know how to make such a tune.

I'd agree...overheating, possibly excess boost, and insufficient additional fueling in the tune.

You can log EVERYTHING with a OBD2 dongle and eg. the Torque app
