Finally got an allocation and now I am having second thoughts
Finally got an allocation and now I am having second thoughts on my color choices.
I am little worried I will not like SO in person since I never got an opportunity to see it on a full car. I also tend to like brown or red interiors. I completely lack the courage to go SO/SO. That being said, I don't really love any of the other colors except MG and I have had a ton of grey cars and am somewhat sick of them. I will probably keep the car for at least 5 years. I thought I had my mind made up until my allocation came in and I started doubting my choices. I have a week 5 production date. For the record, here is what I ordered: F80 B50 - SO Exterior X3SW - Black Full Leather Interior ZDB - Driver Assistance Plus ZEC - Executive Package ZLP - Adaptive LED Lighting 2MK - DCT 2VF - Adaptive Suspension 415 - Power Rear Sunshade 5DP - Parking Assistant 6NS - Enhanced BT |

I have SO with full black interior and love it. Have never regretted the SO color choice, however there are times that I wish I had gotten Amaro brown interior.
SO FTW

I had the same concerns. My F80 order matches yours exactly. It will arrive at my dealer center this week. I did see one in person recently and it really looks great - It immediately erased my concern. The color looks great and varies from dark to light depending on the sun. Don't worry, you'll love it. Go with your first choice, I did.

When I decided on getting an M3 I purposefully waited for the 2016 release specifically for the Sakhir exterior option. It is a magnificent M color and have absolutely zero regrets. I also wanted a bit of a bolder interior but wasn't brave enough for matching leather so I ended up getting cohiba Brown and now could imagine having any other combination, for me it's perfect.
Bottom line is go with something that makes you a little nervous because you will be excited to see it every time |

SO is what made me finally get my M4 after years of wanting a M3 and not having the guts to do it. the color is amazing. first time I saw SO at my dealership on the M4 they had I knew I had to have it. that being said, if I got any other color it would have been MG. not sure if have the guts to do SO interior... it's so bright. But MG with Sonoma beige...... yes please.

It is a fascinating and dynamic color. Stay the course, you'll severely regret the change to grey. I've seen the MG also and when completely clean with mods, it looks conservatively nice, but as a standard M3 in need of a nice wash, the color looks dull and boring, and if your goal is to disappear in the Walmart parking lot that is the color to get, I'd even get black before MG. |

I got to see a SO M6 in the Florida sun and it's spectacular. It has real depth to it and is quite complex looking. I went back and forth between SO and AW for about two weeks and settled on AW. Just like how clean it looks with the carbon fiber and black kidney grilles. I'm actually having 2nd thoughts on if I should have went for SO

My previous car was e92m3 AW with all the cf goodies and fox red interior. I loved it white is so clean and classy but also so common. Not that there is anything wrong with that!!! I decided if I was going to deviate SO was the only choice for me!!

If it was a super rich reddish copper like some photoshoots potray, I would have gone with it. But in person it looks much closer to a boring burnt orange to me personally. |

No-one else can tell you what color you will, or will not, like. If you are planning to make an 80K purchase decision based on anonymous internet feedback, I have a brooklyn bridge for sale... real cheap... in just the color you will LOVE! a

As for any delay, not that I know of, maybe a week, but mine was one of the first runs of the 16's and I took delivery of it maybe two weeks after the first ones showed up on the west coast. But what is a week or two, or even three for getting exactly what you want. Also in the absence of physically seeing one, I suggest you peruse through this thread, I think I posted some pictures on the last page. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=953306 cheers |
