118i Brake Disc options
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I'm driving a 118i year 2013 and I need to replace my front brake discs. A friend of mine, who's driving the same car, went to BMW service and he payed a lot! I did some research on the Internet and there are a couple of alternatives. Like Brembo for instance. Do you guys have any experiences with discs? Shall I just order the OEM stock disc or could I acquire better results with Brembo or anything else in particular? |

I doubt that you would have better results with Brembo or other brands, but it is possible to find cheaper alternatives. Sometimes the cheaper ones rust more easily, and otherwise they will typically offer the same braking performance. Brake pads have a lot more influence on the results.

Thank you. In this case I guess I have to go for OEM parts. They cost half the price in contrast with what BMW requires at service. Brembo discs are even cheaper, but so far I'm absolutely happy with the stock brakes, don't wanna take the risk of having rusty brakes

If I could buy Brembos for HALF (??) the price of OEM's then I would not hesitate! I changed my front discs to OEM as that was what was readily available.

I've been told by a fairly reliable source that the M135i/M Performance brakes are made by Brembo.

These are 2 examples I've found on the internet which are being sold in Turkey. I'm not sure if that displays the product itself that they claim they're selling but if they're honest Brembo discs are quite affordable. What do you guys think? And another point, do guys know if 116i and 118i (2013) are sharing the same brake parts or are there differences?
