HU_ENTRYNAV2 and WIFI
Hello all,
I have a 2018 F20 LCI with HU_ENTRYNAV2. I had buy a wifi antenna and want to plug it, but when I look at the back I don't see any suitable place to plug it. Is someone as an explanation ? Is someone as a technical document of this HU ? Regards, Guillaume |

Hello. I saw many posts regarding a BMW similar to mine with the same headunits. I am trying to get either apple car play on my current headunit or order a new screen but I am unsure to what head unit will work.
My vehicle is a BMW F20 118i with a Entrynav2 HU. Map version: Road Map EUROPE Way 2017-2 H1835E1R VIN: WBA1R520305C75594 I have installed a wifi antenna as I thought that was all I need for my small screen to get carplay however this isnt the case. I was wondering can anyone help me with both Qs I have 1) What do I need to do to get carplay on my entrynav2 after wifi installation. And is it possible to get this for free? 2) If I opt for a bigger retrofit screen which one is best? I honestly just want it for Waze and to not have my phone stuck on a airvent. |

For the first option, after you have installed the Wifi-antenna, which is physically needed for CarPlay to function properly, you need to tell your headunit that it indeed supports Apple CarPlay.
In order to do so, there are some service providers who will generate a special code for you based on your VIN to activate the Apple CarPlay. These services are usually non-free as they involve communication with BMW servers if I remember correctly. For the actual activation there is also a software needed, but this is normally included with the activation service itself. |
