So what are your predictions?
On the Red bull ring in Austria we saw a very strong Max Verstappen in the race with an updated Red Bull car. Almost strong enough to win the race.
Their new aero packeage seems to work and tyre deg seems to be pretty good now
However I think that Silverstone will not suit the RB PU as good as Austria, as there are not that many heavy brake points to regenerate, and I think this is where the MERC PU will shine.
Potentially this will suit the Ferrari PU better too, but heat might be a problem just as it was in Austria.
And will this race give some drivers extra motivation as for many it's their home GP

This is my prediction:

1. ANT
2. RUS
3. NOR
4. HAM
5. VER
6. PIA
7. HAD
8. LEC
9. GAS
10. LIN

Silverstone circuit layout versus the 2026 Duracell F1 cars.

Verstappen: "Silverstone, I love the track, but I did a few laps on the simulator, I just started laughing. It felt like a different track, to be honest. You barely have battery around the lap. It’s just constantly flat. So yes, it’s going to feel very different compared to what we are used to around Silverstone, because of the layout of the track. (...) Here (in Austria) you have long straights and big braking zones, so you can charge the battery. There you have long straights but in a fast corner, for example, so you can't really charge the batteries, and then the next straight you don't have a lot to spend. It’s going to be a tough one."

Pretty much what I expected but the race will show if this is correct. Yes it will produce plenty of electric passing but will it be Formula One?

I know exactly the feeling when on another PIH car I drove the lipo battery runs out of charge and you don't get that extra 30% or whatever it is extra boost.

It is 100% Formula One.

Pushing the bleeding edge of tech, including electric propulsion, is in F1 DNA. That's what has always made F1 the most technologically advanced motorsport category in the world.

BTW, the new F1 regs are working well - best on-track racing in decades!

That's right . But the drone in your video was in 2024 ..
The 2024 drone was a Red Bull toy and intended as a promotional video and advertising stunt for the Red Bull energy drink maker.

The Austrian high-speed drone was therefore approved by the FIA and the broadcasting rights .

The safety measures are also track-specific because a drone can crash (!)

Completely disagree, being passed because you run out of battery power is not racing.

That's just one of the 2026 ridiculous racing situations ..

If a driver pushes flat-out all the way to a corner, the battery won't have enough time to charge. To avoid running out of electric boost on corner exits or straights, drivers are forced to "Lift and Coast"— Backing off the throttle well before the traditional braking zone to use the MGU-K to harvest energy.

Won't speak about the 2026 active aero ..(BUT)!
The thing (active rear wing) almost killed MAX during the Austrian qualifications in QF3.

Take it from someone who flies light planes, I could not agree more. But careful planning of the flight path will mitigate a lot of the risk. I'm certain there will be a section of Silverstone that is the safest place to fly the drone at race speed AND get decent coverage, just like in Austria.

As usual we agree about nothing. But enjoy you racing if you can call it that.

When Formula One went down the "Net Zero Carbon emissions by 2030" rabbit hole the sport suffered and as for the rules, BOP has NO place in Formula One. It is an acknowledgement that the FIA screwed the pooch.
Do you really think the globalists that are forcing people to do with out AC in a heat wave are going to allow Formula One to not turn into Formula E? Me, I will enjoy it for the time being until the politics make it unbearable.
