New user, new 2012 1 Series
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Just saying hello as a new user, finally took delivery of my 2012 1 series about a month ago and I have to say it's superb! Spec is (in addition to standard): - 120d Sport - metallic black - heated black leather seats - aluminium trim - xenon headlights - HiFi speaker system - extended light pack - driver comfort pack I've done around 1300 miles and it's going great so far. I used to have a 2005 120i sport which was a great car, but I much prefer the ride in the 2012 model - it seems that BMW have sorted out that bouncy back end nicely, lumps and bumps are definitely better on this new car not to mention a better / bigger boot space. Economy is also great, managed 63.9 mpg into work (90% motorway, doing around 60 mph) and about 55 mpg back (more stop start and slightly uphill). Overall, combined i'm getting 51 mpg and that's with a heavy right foot; I tend not to hang around. I'm hoping I might eek a bit more mpg out of it once it's got a few more thousand miles on it. No rattles so far, definitely a higher quality throughout over the previous 1 series. I love it, definitely looks better in the flesh than in the pics! |

Next week i will collect my new 1er. Almost the same. Black saphire 120d sport with lots off toys. Despite all the comments about the looks i find it a very handsome car and there is no competition about the way its drives. Have fun!

Hello, welcome to the forum and congrats with your car. Remember to shoot some pics!
I won't be getting my own Sapphire black 120d before May, so it's great to hear others experiences. Have fun and drive carefully through the Scottish winter

I'll concur, I have a f20 120d and managed a 100 mile trip and got 62mpg crushing 90% at 70mph.
Also the same trip with a heavy heavy foot at 53mpg. My urban is 47mpg where I am averaging probably 15mph on a good day....got to love London....the HK system is a god send. |

I agree. I had my misgivings, having seen the headlights of the prototypes, but still ordered the F20, given how much I loved my old 1 series.
But no drama - they look nowhere near as weird as I thought they might. And as for the "shark-nose" - I love it. |
