BC cops are super uptight. 60mph/100kmh is as high as speed limits go. I get away with 70-75mph but it can be dicey.
I would definitely stay in downtown as that and North Van are the spots to check out. The only suburb I spend some time in is Surrey because of the good Indian food, but I always stay downtown.
