Will be interesting if future BMW痴 with iDrive 9 will support Apple iOS digital key and wireless AppleCar play. I知 sure that a majority of BMW owners prefer Apple iOS over Google android.

I知 no developer but Android Automotive =/= Android Auto so I doubt that this will be possible. Android Automotive is likely a better platform to develop on for BMW, and depending on what the future is with infotainment system, developers as well. But with that said, I知 sure it値l still be locked down in typical car OEM fashion, highly doubt it痴 going to be a free for all like how we think of Android phones.
Also, Apple (CarPlay, Digital Key) can run on top of Android Automotive - I think many are confusing Android Auto with Android Automotive.
