I think the point was that the M135i is crying out for an LSD, which is now available as an option for the M235i and presumably soon for the M135i.
With an LSD its very likely that an M235i will post quicker times than an E90 M3 thanks to its low down torgue and ability to punch out of corners really hard. With the new M3 and M4 due out in June, the bar will have been raised (they also have turbos and low down torque), so you don't have that unnatural situation where the M-light is faster than the M |
Depends on what track. You can argue that there are tracks more suited for the M235i and others better for the M3 but to say the E9X M3 lacks the torque coming out of corners hasn't driven one properly or at all. I'm a huge fan of the new M235i and have hooned it hard this past week but even with LSD it'll still be slower than the now 7-year old E9X M3
