I see that the A Class Mercedes is coming Stateside March 2018, it could be the alternative I am looking for, take a look here:

Hopefully they decide to bring the hatchback to the USA, the sedan is definitely going to be here. The hatchback, IMHO, looks very good, not a sterile as the Golf, comes in AMG guise, and has an incredible interior. I would remove the rear wing:
