Faulty sensor is not uncommon, specially they are probably all mass produced in China.
"damaged bonnet" I am sure the dealer's body shop can take care of that, and making it look like new again.
So looks like everything is fixed for now, it would be better to keep the car and use it everyday, instead of sell it and take the loss.
