Actually I just looked into this and it was quite interesting. AC Schnitzer do a tuning box for the 120d that take power and torque figures up to the level of the 125d. So you would expect the 0-62mph time to drop to around 6.5secs just like the 125d. But it doesn't - it drops just two tenths of a second to 7.0secs from 7.2secs:

Does the 125d have much more aggressive gearing than the 120d? Otherwise I can't see why there is such a difference.
