One way to find out is to spend a lot of time on realoem.com and check every single part to see if it's different between the 2 engine types. (Like already said; turbo, injectors, exhaust, pistons, etc etc)

And yes, the engine management will have to be changed. But you might be able to flash the ecu to stock 125D if you actually do a complete "original parts upgrade".

Isn't a complete engine swap (rebuild or lower mileage) a better option?
