Not a problem
It picks up well enough and is so smooth. Expect it is similar to your F30. Less power but a lighter car so I'd imagine performance isn't too far off. On the trip I was getting 55mpg on the way down with the cruise and Eco pro mode. Got less on the way back as gave it a bit more of a drive at speed. I maybe could have sacrificed the auto box for the '2L' engine but I wanted an auto and its plenty fast enough for me any way.
As I said above I did test drive a 4 series but I'm very glad I went for the 1 over the 4 or a 3 as they would have been far too big for me. The drivers cabin on the 1 is generous, the rear seats are a bit limited on leg room though. But it's only ever me and my partner in the car hence why I also went for a 3dr.
