Unfortunately for a 2012 Impreza compared to a 2014 X1, regardless of whatever differences are quoted in the book, the difference in the center of the car was about 3".
When my impreza got stuck, it high centered. None of the tires were able to get full traction. I have a job where getting there is not optional, and its time pressure as well. Couldv'e been tank tracks and wouldn't have helped.
