I am proud to be black, but sometimes I unfortunately am not. Especially these days. I don't feel either is wrong.
I am not proud of the stigma that surrounds young black men, and they do nothing as a whole to distinguish themselves in society as they continue to stab one another in metro stations, shoot each other point blank in broad daylight, start fights with people for no reason, and use every possible moment to display bouts of ignorance and stupidity.
I didn't know it was wrong for a white man to be proud he was white. I get accused of having white tendencies all the time.
We are who we choose to be in today's world, that is the beauty of the society in which we live. Unfortunately, it is a double-edged sword.
