So, if you’re pulling more weight than the Camry is rated to handle, you need a different tow vehicle. The smallest trailer is usually the easiest to pull and control, but it has to handle the load you’re putting on it. So I would start with the loads being carried and work forward, so to speak, to the trailer and tow vehicle.
My hitch/reciver is rated at 3500lbs, 350lb tongue weight so I'm good there, but the manual only says 1,000 towing capacity. I'll push that to 2-3k though I think it'll be just fine for the short distances I'll be going. I
