This is just what I was told.
The automatic transmission seems to select the wrong gears, or it simply has mind of its own sometimes. The gear changes are not smooth, and it happens no matter it was full throttle or not. The problems come and go. I guess this part is similar to yours.
He was never kicked into limp mode, however.
Our dealer did a "software flush" (re-install the software?) on the car and the problems were solved. They would not elaborate on what were exact wrong.
