As someone who works for Apple, I can tell you that CarPlay / Android Auto have nothing to do with in car anything. Even a Nissan Sentra is compatible with these, and that car has far from anything remotely related to in vehicle data connection.
Well, since you work for Apple, you must have all the answers; like where could I find a charger
