I too resided in your part of the world many years ago (hence my user name which was from back then too).
That is an awesome drive. I also use to go up the hot springs by the foot of Fujiyama, another great drive especially on weekdays.
I drove a 1989 Nissan Skyline GTR R32. Phenomenal car!
