Loaner Policies
Brought my BMW in for service and to fix the ac which stopped working for unknown reasons and to fix three recalls on the car. They were very helpful and even said I could get a loaner. After a while they said I can't get a loaner and I would have to instead get a rental from them. They said because I was under 25 that their insurance "wouldn't cover me". Is this true or is the policy different from dealer to dealer. I read another dealers site saying anyone over 21 can get a loaner.

Edit: Don't want to bad mouth them because they were helpful and if that's their policy then I can't argue with it, but I'm now driving a VW Passat with and engine that jerks every time I tap the gas. I just think it's unfair to me? If it's the policy then there nothing I can do, but I'm not naming the dealer in good faith that they aren't just screwing me because I hadn't bought my car at their dealership.
Also, this is in NYC.
