I don't have the top professional package; I have the basic 'Sport' package, so no Sat Nav etc.. What is the component called on a vehicle of my spec which would have to be replaced if the iDrive was faulty? I'm going to ring the workshop tomorrow and speak with them so they can resolve the issue. I've not had any issues with the Workshop and they are held to a high regard so it shouldn't be a problem. Although, now you've mentioned a non-existent item being replaced I am sceptical however, I'm hoping that this is just the part being referred to by the wrong name.
Thank you for the link to the thread. I will have a more in-depth read however, my understanding is that a replacement is the best option....which I thought I had, had done.
