No idea if I am being a clown (anyone is welcome to tell me!) but I picked up from 2017 1 Series from used car dealer today in London.

The VIN checked out based on visual inspection, logbook and via Auto-trader / Experian checker + one other.

I've come to check if the software is up to date, but the BMW website tells me my VIN is not recognised. I called BMW support and they referred me to my local dealer, agreeing they could not match the VIN.

I guess two questions, from folks that know more than me:

1. I can't think of a reason why BMW might be struggling with the VIN - any ideas?

2. Is my EVO ID6 software up to date? Mine says:

TT-001.041.002
MT-001.041.002

. . . if I'm not up to date, is my only recourse to get a dealer to update me, or can I download it from somewhere other than the BMW update website?
