I had that suspicion, too.
If you watch the M135i vs S3 which should be really equal (watch @0:30)
It already was discussed controversial back then.
BMW Limiters doesn't spread at all. They cut exactly @155mph... You can see it clearly in this video (watch @0:40 approaching the limiter multiple times)
