It is confirmed by my dealer that it is the valve. They've oiled it a bit and now I can barely notice it anymore, but it's still there. I've complained about it again, but they tell me it's normal and that you always will hear the valve. Doesn't sound normal to me. They will look into it again next time I bring my car in.
Do other M135i owners have this issue?

Yeah a few people have mentioned this valve. Can you see it when you look directly into the passenger side exhaust tip? (This is where the sound seems to be coming from)
I did notice an angled flap there but it didn't seem movable to me
