It Probably cost that much when they debut the tech, now moving from pure race applications to a demonstrator ultra low production car. In another 4 years could we see a commercialized version of the tech? It seems like the right answer to questions of maintaining a high performance direct connection and having hybrid capability. Agreed, if a high volume producer as ZF is willing to develop and mass produce this technology it’s the way to go for M. Not only the hybridization but the transaxle with it’s weight distribution advantages. The weight from the transmission and electrification right on top of the drive axles is yummy.
