Xtrac is mainly a racing transmission company and I unsuccessfully tried to find pricing but I suspect this tranny cost as much as an M3 so I doubt we'll see them in any volume M cars.

Perhaps,
It Probably cost that much when they debut the tech, now moving from pure race applications to a demonstrator ultra low production car. In another 4 years could we see a commercialized version of the tech? It seems like the right answer to questions of maintaining a high performance direct connection and having hybrid capability. Obviously we don't know where it sits on the reliability and scalability part of its development curve.
