You can get a low end 3 Series - a 316/318i or 316/318d, and perhaps even in higher level trim depending on region - with the single zone climate control system seen in the CS. Technically, that is where it comes from. Yes, the 1 Series shares many parts with the 3 Series, so it might also use the same part too, but my point is that you never needed to look further than the familiar 3 Series that the M3 and M3 CS evolve from to see where that HVAC system was borrowed from. |
