Don't get baited,
NYG.
Teams have bonus programs as incentives for performance. Must hurt Wolff & C° that reaping windfall in 2022 ain't as easy anymore like it used to be the past years. Can no longer take things for granted. Ripe fruit to be picked, doesn't hang as low for them nowadays - times have changed.
So this 2022 season is
"less entertaining" for their bank accounts.
Toto Wolff hinting at the start of the 2022 season in a Sky interview (UK) that he "contemplates" the idea of reducing his involvement as team principal for Mercedes-AMG, in order to improve his work-life balance. Little did he know at that time that his team would become merely 'best of the rest' instead of top 2, only managing to get P3 at best when at least a Red Bull or Ferrari driver encountered an issue compromising his podium chances.
