Bagara rice

A flavor palette from another world, from a western (Euro-American) perspective.
Basmati rice spiced with:
Bay leaves
Green cardamom
Cinnamon
Cloves
Curry leaves
Black stone flower
Onion
Ginger garlic paste
Oil
Ghee (sparingly, I used butter)
Salt
Garnished with a tadka of fried curry leaves and mustard seeds in oil and ghee. Served with very hot vegetable pickle (achar) and fresh local strawberries.
The game changers are the black stone flower (a lichen) and the fried tadka garnish. All spices used whole.
