That's insane. What a magnificent achievement!!
I had a friend who built a 911 Turbo for the Texas Mile with his wife's reluctant permission. He did a test run at a 1/2 mile event and it scared her so crap-less that he was banned from doing the event. It was a 700+ HP 911 about 5 years ago.
Another acquaintance died last year at a 1/2 mile event here at NOLA. Not my cup of tea but I salute those who have the balls to do them. I prefer going around turns fast, braking, and accelerating. Waiting for something to possibly blowup or fail for a whole mile, flat stick, isn't my thing.
