Can you be more specific about "look like it was serviced regularly"? Have you verified no more than 10k between any two oil changes according to these sources?

Don't mind me but if you want a reliable BMW the '89-92 535i will run until the end of time. I just picked one up at 145k and it's cleaner inside and out (including inside the engine) than an average 5-year-old BMW-anything with the 4 banger turbo.
