"I think the 981 version with the NA flat six is the one to have personally compared to the newer 718 with the 4 pot turbo... apparently they stopped making the base, S and GTS versions for the US so the only one you can spec and order now is the GT4 and the Spyder.

100%, the 4 cyl Turbo is faster off the line and at low revs, but doesn't sound anywhere near as good and is frankly a little boring compared to the flat 6. I've had a few as service loaners.
