Apollo 11
Launched 50 years ago, landed on the moon July 20 1969. I remember it well, straining to make out the images on the tv and understand the voices, with my parents so excited for the accomplishment. And the anxiety when the spacecraft and astronauts were behind the moon.
Amazing accomplishment at an incredible pace from Kennedy’s challenge to the walk and return.
