Our biscuits are sort of like unsweetened scones, or small bread lumps. Smothering them with sawmill or sausage gravy (thickened/creamy) is a breakfast staple in the southeast USA, where some would argue that it contributes to the region's higher rate of cardiac problems.
Biscuits here are also paired with fried chicken for lunch/dinner, and used to make sausage patty or bacon/egg breakfast sandwiches.
I do have biscuits and gravy on occasion when visiting the south, and they are very good in taste...but not very good for my barely-functioning ticker.....

We
do have cookies over here in one form or another to have as a desert.
