I'd rather see them put out a small truck or even a car-based ute like others have posted, since there is no domestic equivalent for that at the moment.
I don't think European fullsize trucks would sell very well here. The kinds of people that buy top trim half tons don't see a German badge as prestige anyway. I say this as an owner of a diesel F-250 that get's shit from my "truck friends" for even owning a BMW too.
